I getting ready to purchase a few mods for my 2006 LBZ Duramax. 4" turbo back exhaust, PVC reroute.

I called TSD here in San Antonio, Was quoted $425.00 for straight pipe exhaust. no brand name. $689.00 for the EFIlive, and they do the DSP5 install with thier tunes, and no handheld.

I called ATP, and they want $325.00 for 4" MBRP exhaust with muffler, $265.00 for straight pipe. $649.00 for EFIlive, includes hand held and tunes by Rob.

guess who is getting my $$$.

RVreddog told me that I will get drone noise in cab with a straight pipe. I don't want that, anyone else running a straight pipe exhaust? Do you get the drone noise?

I get zero drone in mine, honestly it's not much louder than stock.

I've got a little drone in mine but not to bad when I went to 4" straight pipe, but it's a cummins so that may make a little difference. I even put a 8" tip on it and didn't really make any difference.

Gotcha, not sure what's up with the price difference, but I can say I know they aren't hurting one bit lol! That's who did all my 6.0 mods and the custom tuning, but I also grew up with one of the owners so i got a lil hookup.

If you are just straight piping, look on eBay. That's where Hester gets all his exhaust for his 27 different tow rigs.

What exhaust did you get, Jeremy?

MBRP 4", turbo back. Was still in the box, but came with the truck.

For comparison, I ran a 3" straight pipe on my 97' Cummins, at 2K RPM you couldn't hardly hear yourself talk. Wasn't bad at other RPM's though.

Lol I feel ya 100% on the cummins loudness, my cummins was annoying loud , I had a headache by the time I got done towing. My powerstroke seems much quieter under load, however the turbo whistle at idle tends to piss some people off lol!!

My LBZ had a lot of a drone with the 5" exhaust. On the LMM, I will be sticking to a 4" exhaust...planning to pick up one from ebay for about $300 and run the ATP tunes. I say just save the money and run it without a muffler.

2.5 yrs later and only thing I've done is replaced the fuel filter housing, and added a bullydog. I have the stuff for the PVC delete, just ain't done it. Want to do the egr delete, just not a huge priority yet. Must say tho that I have enjoyed having this truck.
