Colorado Labor Day Weekend

The wife and I loaded up the Jeep this passed weekend and headed for Colorado. The plan was to do some shopping and hit a trail while we were there. I looked into Chinaman Gulch and decided that’s what I wanted to do. Saturday we got into Colorado Springs late afternoon and saw some sites before stopping at Trinity Brewery for some dinner. Their pickle beer was spot on and the wings were really good.
Sunday we got up early and made the two hour drive towards Buena Vista, Colorado. Once we made it to the trailhead we aired down and almost made a huge mistake by entering Carnage Canyon instead of Chinaman. Luckily my wife was paying attention to the map. Once we finally made it on the trail it took us right at 3.5 hours to finish the 7.1 mile trail from air down to air up. After we finished the trail we headed to Eddyline brewery for lunch. The pulled pork nachos and Grapefruit IPA were excellent. The only carnage was my rear shaft took a good hit and ripped the boot on it.
I am really enjoying driving the rig to wheel and driving it back. It’s how things used to be.
It started snowing us on Tuesday right before we left. All in all it was an awesome trip and already planning the next one.
Enjoy the pics.

Nice pics. We were up that way last spring, but didn't do any wheeling.

We did make a run up to Pike's Peak, which is pretty amazing. They weren't letting everyone drive up in their own vehicle but we got to because we had a baby seat.

I was wanting to go ride some trails up there this summer but things have been too crazy.

If you decide you want to go just let me know. I am always up for a good wheeling trip.
