Chili Challenge Trails

Took a trip to Caballo, NM this weekend with a few buddies. Had a pretty awesome time until my rear driveline let go at the most inconvenient spot. That led to winching up a wall and getting my driver tire wedged in a rock causing my brand new ujoint to snap. Decided to turn around and go back the way we came. Well my buddy towing me back broke a front shock mount which caused his air shock to puncture his steering reservoir. Unfortunately he runs full hydro so we were dead in the water. Once we got him going again and he started pulling me down the mountain I got my front passenger tire into a rock and blew the bead. Got that tire changed on the trail and continued our trek back to the trailers. Several hours later we made it to the trailers and headed home. We ran into some snow on the way home also which was cool to see. I tried posting a video of the snow but I guess it’s too big.

Great pics! Before they cancelled it, we had talked about going on the CC this year. I thought the expense was a little much and seemed way too structured for our type of wheeling. I like to get out and cruise and hit stuff that looks interesting as we come across it. It appeared to me that they had a pretty strict itinerary.

The Chilli Challenge is very structured. I don't know what it costs these days. I like going out there when its not the chilli challenge. that is all BLM land and free to wheel and camp on.

But the Chilli Challenge also has a lot of good things too, Huge Raffle, dinner and breakfast, and getting to see all the rigs from around the country who come to play.

That’s my buddy Mark’s new rig. He sold the Toyota and bought this thing. Pretty sick rig with all the good parts. It’s actually a full tube chassis with a 6.0/th350/atlas 3spd.

The Chilli Challenge is very structured. I don't know what it costs these days. I like going out there when its not the chilli challenge. that is all BLM land and free to wheel and camp on.

But the Chilli Challenge also has a lot of good things too, Huge Raffle, dinner and breakfast, and getting to see all the rigs from around the country who come to play.

I'm sure the experience is great. I don't do big crowds very often or structure when it comes to wheeling. LOL I like my small group and prefer to just hit things as we come across them.

He’s good. Staying busy with the shop. He’s also getting me into trouble by making me follow him in my mall crawler.
