Gonna start a ”build thread” for the truck. My plan is to build a flat bed for it once the crawler is done. But first I’ve been wanting to put some cab lights on it for years and finally did it today and just a couple cool pics of it out at our land in Buffalo Springs.

Taking a break from the crawler for a few weeks. Got started on the bed. This is gonna be about as simple of a bed as you can make it.

The “skeleton“ of the bed is pretty much done. Have some bracing to do and going to really beef up the hitch area. I feel sorry for anyone that happens to rear end me. After the bracing and final weld. I’ll start sheeting it then build the headache rack.

Debating on a much more simple flat bed for my duramax. Just haven’t decided. Will the boxed ends have some type of toolboxes or storage cubbies?

Probably not but not 100% sure yet. It would be nice to have a place to store straps but really wanting to keep this one simple. Plus the price now for some underbody boxes is nuts.

Got it back on the truck today. Still have a bunch of work left to do on it. But I needed to be able to pull my trailer this coming week. Tomorrow I’ll get my filler neck done, mount my trailer plug, mount my LP and start getting my lights wired up. IMG_2567.jpegIMG_2566.jpeg

Just about ready for powder coating. I’m gonna do something at the corners of the headache rack to give it more of a round look. Think I’m gonna recess my lience plate. Have to drill the holes for my running lights a little bigger and finish welding the fenders on. I just needed the bed on the truck for the next few weeks because I need to pull the trailer around(Which may be for sale if anyone is looking for a trailer). IMG_2663.jpegIMG_2662.jpegIMG_2661.jpeg

Just about done with it. Got the angle piece welded in on the headache rack. I need the truck this weekend but once im done with it I’ll pull the bed off and recess the LP and the camera im going to put on the headache rack. Gonna have to do something different with the filler neck. I have to hold the handle to put fuel in it and im not going to do that from now on. May recess it on top of the bed instead of the side. Also pick off a cheap set of 20” fuels for it. I’m about to need some new tires and always wanted a set of these rims. I’m debating on having them powder coated white. IMG_2699.jpegIMG_2698.jpeg

How much for the old set of wheels?

Haven’t put any thought into it honestly. The front tires are wearing funny just because i never rotated them. The backs are in decent shape. Kinda want to build a single axle dually trailer with them for the crawler/Polaris ranger. But that will probably never happen.
