We got lucky and didn't lose power or water and only had one water line freeze. I think we are on the same grid as the school and fire department across the highway. My three immediate neighbors in a 1/4 mile radius didn't lose anything either. Mom and dad lost power and water Sunday through midnight Wed. Today they came off the boil water notice. Once everything thawed, their tankless water heater split. Their house is a couple years newer than ours and they have a true masonry fireplace that kept most of the house at 65*.

We trap water off the roof to the water chickens, cows, and goats. We trap water off the roof in 300 gallon tanks to water the life stock but we never thought we would be we would have to for 7 plus day with out water. I wish I took pics of my ol lady busting ice from the pond so the cows could get a little water. She did it with out asking or being told which goes a long ways these days. The livestock needs way surpass the needs of the those common folk being they have no way to survive.

I don't even want to know how many deer I lost this year. Everyone knows what deer hunting means to me but it's not about the killing. It's about the wildlife and growing them for future generations to enjoy. I've turned my feeders up to their max to help support their needs during this time.

Fawk it, I think I'm signing up for e easy train and moving back to city folk life.

ooooo hell no. I like being a country boy!!!!!
