Spring Fling '18 - Trees' Ranch

Had a Great time this weekend. Picked up a hitchiker on the way out..

Arrived at Trees, unloaded and took off to the trails. ran one trail and the Trees' demons caught me again.. Tow strapped back to camp. Ramman84 was back in camp by then and, Trees' Demons found him also. Looked at the jeep for a bit and then made a parts run to Kerrville. TBI rebuild kit and a new coil for Ramman84 and off we went to the Texas Stop Sign, then back to Trees'. rebuild the TBI, mad a small distance then Dott said he has a spare fuel pump to try, pulled mine off and that ""Really bad words go here@#$%^&^%$$#"" Foam in the fuel cell has been breaking down and clogged the pump. and Ramman found a bad ground wire also. Replaced the pump, fixed the wire and the bitch is running fine again.. hung out visiting with Earl, Dott, and Ramman84 till around midnight.

Sat morning the day was cool and cloudy to start, After Leroy, Patrick, and Brent arrived we all took off for the trails. one minor delay taking off and then we rode all day, hassle free. Ramman84 got some great video and pics of everyone. I have a few to upload after I get them resized.

I headed back to camp around 3 pm. loaded the rigs and moved all the food and raffle stuff up to the bunkhouse. Nice shade, big pitt, etc.. Food and raffle went very well. Huge shoutout to Amanda and Josh for all the help with tickets and such. Finished up the raffle around 8 pm. Hooked the truck up to the trailer and home bound. uneventful trip[ except a trailer flat coming into Boerne. Was good to be on the trails again and hang out with some old friends.

Many thanks to the Raffle Sponsors

Thanks for the pics. Also, thanks for the ride to the ranch. I haven't wheeled in over a year and had a blast. I was a little sore though after all that rock bouncing.

I rolled out of Houston 2am on Friday, b-lined it made it in to camp at 8:30am check in and get a nap, got the Jeep unloaded, and packed for wheeling. When out hit horse shoe canyon, and Jason's Creek saw a huge porcupine scamper across the creek bed. Missed the turn off to go the the waterfall trail from Jason's Creek, got turned around found the trail and blew something electrical. Jeep is stick 1/2-3/4 miles off the main road. So I grab some Waters and walk out to the main road waited a bit thinking someone would drive by. 15-20 minutes no one comes by so I walk back to the Jeep, get to fiddling with it get it to fire up and move 60 feet and it was dead.
I started walking back to the main road fixing to hump it back to camp, when I hear something boucning off the revlimiter, now knowing I am not gonna catch a truck, so I just walk to the road just in time to miss a group of JKs going up the waterfall trail right by widow Maker, try to flag the last guy down but he didn't see me. I figured out that they were going to dumb and dumer or the lathes. Now I'm not fixing to climb this shit on foot so I walk the ranch road down to the waterfall exit catch them having issues on dumb and dummer explain the shituation that I have brought upon myself and kindly ask for a tow back into camp. They abliged got me hooked up and towed in.
The ride in, was Jason's Creek to the main road to horseshoe, my steering wasn't great to start but that steering wheel was doing the hokey pokey, la cucaracha and the macarena at the same time. My arms were jelly by the time I got to back to camp.
Made a couple sandwiches check the fuses and relays figured I wasn't getting spark. About that time Dott comes rolling thru camp with a certain blue Jeep in tow.
I call my rig a loss go and see what the problem is with them, turns out that Kenny is having a fueling issue, we ran into town grabbed my coil his tbi rebuild kit some burgers and get back with just enough light to get some work done. Of course the coil didn't fix mine. So I go to help Kenny with his rig, they have the tbi back together get it going. We sat around and bullshitted and talked about all the good time we had hell we was up till almost 2 am.
Saturday we had a bomb ass day of wheeling we hit Vaca murte, pedal to the metal, widow Maker, waterfall trail, bunny hop, the lathe, to turkey run right and left, cat Skinner Wendy's crack, broken yoke, nissan parkway, cave trails, Indian caves,Miller springs, ice cream sundae, and mighty mouse. At least those are the ones I remember.
We had Earl flop on mighty mouse, Kenny flop but drive out of it on turkey run left, Leroy was fixing to flop on turkey also Brent and I managed to get his wheels all touching the ground again and got him up the trail. Kenny Dott and I rolled back to camp got loaded and started on with the burgers and raffle stuffs.
After the raffle we had a jk stuck on Mike's creek with a busted rear diff yoke and NO FRONT DRIVE SHAFT the kicker here is he drove it to the park. The drama that went down there was well worth the admission price and the sketchy ride down there in the dark.

I posted the pictures I took and am working on the videos I got lots of them.

This was one of the best trips I have had even with only wheels for a bit.

Holy hell I did not intend to write a novel

Owner of jk came looking for bolts around 10pm brought a 15mm bolt said he needed 2 I managed to find them he left. At around 11pm after I was in the tent he came back said bolts were wrong size I sent him back with 7/16 bolts. I heard he could not manage to install he thought they were the wrong size. Somebody went with him and had to put the bolts in for him he didn't have a clue what he was doing.

    Lol that was me
He could not figure out how to put the bolts in the driveshaft, so I crawled down there and stuck them in and tighten it up, all that time wasted when his GF/has everything they needed to get him going again in her jeep
